G1 audio tests and interpreters at DriveTest

How to request spoken questions, a verbal test or an interpreter for your Ontario G1 knowledge test at a DriveTest centre.

This guide explains DriveTest services. Testlane provides written practice; it does not play test questions aloud or arrange interpreters.

Choose a supported language for the computerized G1 test. Ordinary knowledge tests are walk-in; arrive at least one hour before closing to allow time to register and finish.

Listen through headphones

DriveTest kiosks have audio with repeat and skip controls. No audio appointment is needed. Tell the agent before entering the test room, or as soon as you realize you need audio.

Arrange a verbal test

If you cannot use the audio test or need a verbal accommodation, make an appointment with DriveTest. A staff member administers the verbal knowledge test.

Arrange an interpreter

Book a verbal test with DriveTest and confirm the interpreter's qualifications with your centre before arranging attendance. Requirements vary by region. You pay foreign-language interpreter expenses; sign-language arrangements have separate rules.
